Catharsis Poem by Chloe Lubinska

Catharsis

Rating: 5.0

My eyes pursue the obscure footprint of the sun
'What is it running from? '
My question intercepts
The looming gloom of it's tangled cocoon
'Only the fear of a bayonet'

Colours contouring a misty scum
'But what is it running from? '
My question learned regret
Splicing the vice like a summer kite
'Only the motives of a resurrect'

On looking the transcending
The omniscient jump
'Why is it running, what has it done? '
A jagged query un-puzzling a puzzle well done
'Pursuing the verdict, will crease the sun'

Blinding blackness suddenly attends
'Finally here, now what have you done? '
Feet tremble, you're eyes start to stare
As falling fortunes
Absorb back the air

I sit back, steady my fall
Along with the questions
Lying there on the floor
I see my answer a form of snake
With it's futile ends
Which unknown fake

Before I know it I've made my wake
Opposing not the shattered dawn, again which the sun takes
'Where have you gone, what has gone wrong? '
But not an answer around would clear the sound
Of the questions falling
Pounding the ground

I raise my head to a bright burning toil
Too light to read, glance transcends to the soil
'Can I ask you? What does this mean?
My echoing queries partake the scene

Back to the roots of my feet
To the top of my head
'It's best not to know' and that's all they said
My questions prevail, escaping my lead
To join the graveyard
Where curious lies dead.
