In hellish fire
Of terrible strait
Of blocked street,
She crossed the Rubicon
To an alien town,
And found no way
To be on own
Or reach back home,
But to freeze
And go rot,
She found herself.
She struggled hard
To move far out,
But, alas, tight ropes
Held her back
And pulled back;
Repeated falls
Frustrated her
And settled helpless
Where was she cursed
In endless tears
Of her failed life.
I heard it all,
Already in a net,
Couldn't do much;
Yet I her showed
Clues of faint light
In far horizons
As glimmers of dawn;
The Earth is round,
While traverses with time,
One reaches home
Some day some time.
In hopeless state
She held to the straw
And counts each day
For her light
From the silent dawn
From far horizons,
While as part of it
I doubt myself
How can it bless
Our cursed souls
Since Eons back.
