Cell Phones Poem by Coach Roth

Cell Phones

Rating: 5.0

Four young girls
in a car...
windows down...
cellphones to each ear.
Perhaps unable to hear
above the breeze
are they calling each other?
Or are they simply
bored by the company they keep.

I can relate to this so well, happens to us youngsters so many times, nothing to talk about all we do is hold on to the mobile pretending to talk, we have so much on the platter but less time to handle that so much

...unlike in the old days, when by dint of a sudden hiccup in one's throat one knew it a mystic sign that one's beloved one was able to read the thought one had in mind and that he/she consented to it...

Makes you wonder just what friends do together anymore. Seems rude to me, also very unsafe for the driver (and whoever else is on the road) . I mean - what do you have to say that you couldn't have said before you left the house, and before you get to your destination? Grocery list? What to wear on a date? Maybe it's a sign of 'coolness' to have a phone stuck to your ear. Short and to the point - says alot! Linda :)
