Once upon a time
I saw a centipede
in a urinal
a heart of glass
a heart of stone
or a pericardium
that just might
bleed?
A different look at life. A centipede's venomous heart also should have an enveloping pericardium that can bleed. Whether it is of glass or of stone, it has to beat.. nice one 5*
This poem makes me laugh! 5***** Richard's remarks only strengthens my laughter.
Nothing more to add. I totally agree with what esteemed poetess Susan has stated here!
yes, even a lowly centipede has a heart that breaks-- M.J., you have such a novel way of looking at life and I thank you for sharing that with us--you enlarge our horizons--a thousand stars
Many thanks, Susan. And I hope your horse is making a full recovery.

This is what a poets mind is a garden in which imagination grows fruits of ideas. People see a centipede in a bathroom and ignore it, or kill it. yet a poet sees something more profound. I love this so much, thanks M.J.
Thank you so much, Kevin. Or, I suspect, many people would choose to see absolutely nothing.
