Century 16 Aurora 2012 Poem by Jim Boone

Century 16 Aurora 2012

Sunrise, sunset on chaos, fear, shock, good and evil;
out of the darkness into the light. Of what! ? !

'We must protect the rights of our citizens to bare
arms; make it as easy as possible for the mentally
estranged to at the end of another day on the planet
in another corner of our world.' Another political
wipeout to be answered for.

9/11, the stunning slaughter and giving of life
without closure. A school massacre known simply as
Collumbine the tragic. Government massacres, in tandem,
known shockingly as Syria the unending. A movie theater
massacre known repeatedly as a celebration turned into
another traumatic and life-ending tragedy.

'I need to know about my son Alex' a father pleaded as
he held up a photo. 'It's his birthday (#27) today for
God sake, please help me! ' Happy birthday dearly
departed Alex, happy birthday to you. 'Dad, I'm not
there... up here dad, up here ' 'Life keeps happening
every day, say ‘yes'.' 'Dream as if you'll live forever,
live as if you'll die today.'

Heroes always emerge: Black, Hispanic and White; turning
bad karma to good; setting examples of powerful right
out of shattering wrong, as once again normal is lost in
translation and resilient is outstanding in survivor DNA.

This Killer ‘s name must never be spoken again; his
image forever unpublished: the plight of a Coward. Alive,
for now and may he never see the light of day again. He
is not insane, but without soul-consciousness; beyond the
capability of remorse, while cowardly snatching his 15-
minutes of fame that will be entered into the teachings
of this school of life known as the Planet Earth, at the
hEart of the universe.

There will be much written, spoken and viewed regarding
Century 16 Aurora, July 20,2012. Will there finally and
forever be preventative life-maintenance concerning such
avoidable tragedies? Probably not. 'Live as if you'll die
today.' 'I came here to meet you, not knowing you exist..
.at first...and then... but now we've come to this.'

Somebody say, ‘Amen'
