Chadwick, Chadwick! Poem by Andrew Hinds

Chadwick, Chadwick!

Chadwick, Chadwick!
A joy to behold.
A boisterous frenzy of endless energy.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
The great protector of all the family.
The great protector of the home.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
Barks at strangers to the door.
Growls at cats from nest door.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
Rages at the astonished post person.
The surprised paperboy delivering the daily news.
Who are scared to the front gate.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
Burnt umber eyes of piecing delight as the master approaches within sight.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
A shiny, bright coat as dark as coal.
Shimmed under the nights stars.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
Short hair bronzed, chestnut shaded legs.
Muscles of a force of steel.
.
Chadwick, Chadwick!
A cross to bear of
Alsatian, Doberman breed.
A springy bouncy attitude of wagging tail too.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
A welcoming appeal of laughing smile.
A licking tongue of devotion.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
A friendly wetting on someones shoes.
A trickle of admirable dews of sociability.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
Thunderous barking.
Produced from his very soul.

Chadwick, Chadwick!
Plays like a child.
With a blazing speed faster than a racing car.
Chasing balls, flying things,
birds, dragonflies and butterflies galore.
He would love to kill them all

Chadwick, Chadwick!
A darling pet that eternally will be missed.
Lives in our hearts in endless time, remembered!
