Change Poem by Kathleen Cardinal Farnsworth

How do you open your eyes
And never see
How do you lean, to hear
But never listen
How do you embrace
With never feeling

How do you change?
How do you see?
How do you hear?
How do you feel?

Remove the blinders, by opening your eyes
See what's around you
Pay attention
Know what is true

Stop and listen
Hear what is being told
Pay attention to those around you
Have an open heart, not cold

Pay attention to touch
Embrace the feel
Take in the warmth
Know what is real

Try to understand
Take it slow
Open your eyes
Listen to words, you don't know
Embrace a hug
Of a friend or foe

Remember the feeling
Soak in the touch
Human embrace
Means so much

So how do you change?
To be a little more
Time will tell
What's in store
How do you know? ?

The gullible can see but not perceive, listen but not understand... An insightful poem nicely brought forth in good diction with conviction.
