Changes Poem by Angela Wybrow

Changes

Over the past few years,
My life has changed gear;
I've moved on to new pastures,
And found time going much faster
Than ever before -
Hurtling onwards, like a meteor.
My life has changed pace;
Many new challenges, I have faced;
I've had to be brave,
And surf wave after wave;
I've done different things,
Which have made my soul sing;
I've had to break down walls:
Take the knocks and the falls,
But I've got up again,
Despite feeling such pain.
New interests, I have discovered;
An inner strength, I have uncovered.
New skills, I have acquired,
And this has fired
Me up to want to learn more,
And open new doors,
Through which, I can discover new places,
And meet many new faces.
My confidence is growing,
And, inside, my heart is glowing
With a real sense of pride -
I'm really rather enjoying the ride.
Many things, I have achieved:
Many things which I wouldn't have believed
That I could do -
But it's true!
The rhythm of life is constantly changing;
It never stands still; it's always rearranging.
Every day, new hurdles are appearing,
And imaginary alarm bells, I am hearing,
But to fight or take flight, I can choose -
It's up to me whether I win or lose.
But, for now, I'm happy to go with the flow:
Be bold, be brave, and be part of the show.
