Changing Of The Guard Poem by Midifo Yearns

Changing Of The Guard

Streets have new names
Cornering each other on
Littered pavements.
Lights flicker now
No longer speak:
Go, stop, pause.

City where grandfather
Lived, is no longer there.
It’s named anew
And all the invisible folk
Have crowded in.
Very visible they are!

Somehow one senses
That on creation’s day
This was marked to be.
God has had his say
Broken through the fences.
