Changing Of The Seasons Poem by Kayci Lamb

Changing Of The Seasons

in the winter i want to curl up inside you,
only to emerge in the bright heat of summer,
still grasping your hand like a lost lamb,
groping for your warmth.
(you're my sun)

in the summer i want to bathe in your light,
only to escape for the cold of the night,
still looking to you for guidance in the dark,
searching for your heat.
(you're my star)

in the fall i want to stand against your breeze,
only to find you only the ground,
still lively even in slumber,
hoping for your energy.
(you're my nature)

our spring doesn't exist,
as we are too damaged to grow,
and to give life to new beginnings,
but ill never leave you bare and dry,
i'll nurture you forever.
(you're my everything)
