Chaos

It is chaos
out of order

love is a chime
in the silence

it is a gem
in the rubble

love is living
among the dead

it is the sorrow
of the joy amid
tears that must follow

love is everything
that should never be

    I had to smile at this one Mike....love is everything that should never be......I have loved deeper than I thought humanly possible; and hated love itself after enduring the pain that followed. Wonderful (Report) Reply

    Your last stanza is interesting when all along we have been made to believe that love is everything. Loved reading this poem with its contradictory nuances. Excellent. (Report) Reply

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;

And home we brought you shoulder-high.
