Chapters Poem by James Groh

Chapters

The start of a new chapter
Begins with the end of another;
Sometimes to move forward
You must leave things behind;

There comes a time in life
To say goodbye
To someone that you love;
A time that only you
Can determine;
In parting ways
There should be no hard feelings;
Hurt may be inevitable
But in the end you know
That it has to be done;

Sundering allows you to
Become a stronger person;
Don’t think of it as
A loss, or victory;
Think of it as a way to
Grow as a person and
To try new things;
Sometimes things aren’t meant
To be;
It is better to find out now
Than later;

Hope that there is understanding
And agreement;
Make sure there is no anger, sadness
Or rancor;

If your chapters happen to cross
Paths in the future
Don’t be afraid to speak;
You have shared part of your
Lives together;
There is no reason not
To talk.
