Charwoman's Craving For Dawn Poem by Imthiyaz Khan

Charwoman's Craving For Dawn

Rating: 3.5

Tell me how long it takes to dawn dear!
Impatient I turn to witness day break!
Frozen whether my bones become I fear!
Anxious I have been to herald the news:
How I felt suffocated in embrace!
Like a delicious dish I was savoured!
So much love and care as I was in none's views!
Envy everybody does upon the truth:
The stars were plaited as if I were a bride,
My daubed hands looked hennaed like nuptials,
Pressed in service was my bosom's pride,
Turning every new pain into pleasure!
