Cherishing Now Poem by Richie Duprey

Cherishing Now

Setting down my watch, I sit and stare.
I'm in the present now, no need to go anywhere.
Letting the thoughts go, I no longer care.
There's positivity in my air.

The candles are emitting their soft light,
I'll be here all day and night.
No reason to cry, nothing to make me fright.
The present is looking ever so bright.

Many moons will rightly go past.
They may go slow, they may go fast.
I'll sit here still holding on to the memories, my flag at half mast,
Making sure they'll stay, making sure they'll last.

Enjoying every moment,
Not caring about all the messages I've sent.
Loving every soul and the time we've spent.
Here I sit, cherishing the now, leaving the past but holding onto the sweet scent.
