Flow along the mountain river
she will bring you to me
in this misty sleepy valley…
ensconced in swirling clouds
on 4500 feet above the sea.
I’m Cherrapunji.
You come & stand by me..
on that solo balancing monolithic stone
watch my beauties thru thousand falls
silvery mesmerizing un-matched
un-tamed most beautiful in this world
I’m the envy of Mississippi & Niagara Falls.
Rains fall over me whole day & night
I hold dark menacing clouds
compel them to blow & descend down
clouds hug & kiss the hills and valleys
raindrops beat all roofs with awesome
pattering sounds;
Sun & Moon feel scared of me
they rise and set on my Will
amongst dense Wood, Rocks, Pineapple
Orange trees, Orchards, Ferns & Moss
I’m the fascinating “Queen” of all hills.

[Cherrapunji is a beautiful hill station in northeast of India. It is 4500 ft above Mean Sea level. Maximum rainfall is taken place annually and becoz of this reason Cherrapunji has got its place in Guinness Book of World Records. Cherrapunji is approachable by roads from Shillong (Meghalaya) . Standing and Facing the eastern front; one can see Bangladesh down below. It looks like a Water Painting on a very large Canvass]

I’m the envy of Mississippi & Niagara Falls..I hope this time rainfall is hitting it at its peak if not i had heard it wrong from Assamese people. But i feel political unrest is there what is otherwise crisis and cries falling down as tears from people deprived and denigrated.
