Along the Christmas avenues
With light shows on display
Eyes gaze through the car windows
At bulbs of bright array
Like circuses at nighttime
They marvel and perplex
Each neighbor decks their home
Competing to outdo the next
The stores galore with shoppers
And visions that entice
Make some, at times, get testy..
Not acting very nice
Santas, all shapes and sizes
Are everywhere we turn
Some drunk and incoherent
With words you can't discern
The sidewalk angels carol
Those songs we love and know
Of silverbells and jinglebells
And dashing in the snow
We turtle to a standstill
For traffic's heavy now
And every start and stopping
The kids keep saying 'WoW'

Brings to mind our family's annual drive out to see Christmas lights around town. Very good!
