City Lights Poem by David Wall

City Lights

always was a streetster out after dark
momma used to call when i was bout to start
never had a flock just ideas and a dream
leaning on the street light wishing greater things

always achieved my goals everyone to this date
just wake up in the morning with a nice clean slate
always been a demon got vultures in the hood
same street life different street light dude

12 years deep just ask pistol pete
JD he my peep dat boy he a beast
man i like em when they freaks
its detrane on the track
baton rouge vetern I march when i step

say it how ya wanna but imma tell it like it is
im engraved in the game news story when im dead
Im looking at the lights in the city they a daze
You know I love my life but i needa change my ways
in the city lights
