City Love Poem by Asit Kumar Sanyal

I stayed in Mumbai for seven years
Three years in hostel
four years with city people
I loved them
loved the cosmopolitan city
the sea, seasides and sea beaches'
They too loved me.

Then I stayed ten years in Kolkata
With the local people
But I couldn't love them
for their politics activities
I couldn't love bus and trams
it's irritated passengers
And the cut-money people.

Lastly, I stayed in Delhi for 25 years
and It became my own city
I loved Delhi from heart
And booked a flat
to reside permanently
I don't know Delhi loves me or not
But I love this city.
