Clear Calm Night Poem by Honesty Oimbo

Clear Calm Night

I say, friend, goodbye:
When I was so low,
When the raging sea tossed me
You, dear darkness, hid my beaten face
From those who wanted to see
My miserable, glitterless tears.

Now, I ride in many lanes
Lined by many bright stars,
My face gleam as bright -
I am not abashed to smile
For I struggled to be here:
I say, dear darkness, goodbye.
