Cliff Dwellers Poem by Marilyn Lott

Cliff Dwellers

They carved out a village in the side of a rock wall
Built many intricate rooms and that isn't all

They had no tools that were sharp and strong
They used bones they sharpened sturdy and long

Out of the forest that surrounded their homes of rock
They had to find food and they had to take stock.

Where do they plant their gardens in this rock?
I wish I could see them and listen to them talk.
