Close To The Heart Poem by Pradnya Daya Pawar

Close To The Heart

And then on every single day
I saw
The sovereign performance
of the ever disconnected relationship
O, how many times did I throw myself
before you
spreading layer by layer
of my drenched skin!
O how many times did I throw open the
darkness
of my warm womb!
All of a sudden you mistook
it for love,
You kept on crumpling me till
I couldn't tell my front from my back
You kept on branding me with
Your latent syphilis
Your tough ruthless eyes well-versed
Stung me through and through
What are you looking for?
Inside the nakedness and
outside the nakedness
There's only a blank spcae
and you are not
getting it at all
I can understand
You are very sad.
