Closer Poem by Sarah Miller

Closer

Rating: 5.0

They danced.
So innocently at first.
Talking and laughing
As they swayed.
The music continued,
But their talking did not.
Arms pulled closer,
Heads leaned together,
And the talking became
Only a whisper.
One last song.
And his arms grabbed tighter.
She could feel his heartbeat,
And their conversation ended.
So innocent they had begun,
Now both know what is
Happening.
Scared for that last note
Oh, so scared
To let go.
