Cold Grey Ash Poem by D.A. Woods

Cold Grey Ash

Am falling apart,
from my head to my toe,
I've never been able to start,
always been too slow.

Im screaming inside,
but you can't see,
my ocean subsides,
am drowning envy.

Born a little damaged man,
am not like you,
from the time I began,
till the time I breakthrough.

Daydreaming my life away,
while times running out,
every second is my doomsday,
tear the wall down and breakout.

Im the Pheonix burning the pain,
thrusting skywards - clouds I smash,
I shall return here once again,
reborn and reignited from the cold grey ash.
