Columbine Poem by Kartik Saraf

Columbine

Columbine
They all feel happy
Lying down on the hard floor
Not afraid of meeting demise
If they knew what I knew
Of the horror in the walls
They would all fear Columbine
Nobody remembers the lives
The families lost to despair
Killed by a thorny vine
Our seeds of doom and destruction
Were planted in two good souls
We are the cause of Columbine
Now I look back at those
Who take life for granted…
Or maybe they do pine
Yet I feel like I
Am caught in a web of darkness
A web called Columbine
