Combatting

I have brown hair
I am old
I’m even a little fat
I get moody and sometimes I have been a brat
But I did try and save your life

I got a crap job
I have not got two bob
I coo with the pigeons
But I wish I had a religion
But I did at least save a life

I was inches away but I would not have spoken
Yet I readily fly for hours
Confused by my powers
This love will last for years not hours
Someday life will dropp its bomb
And I will slip away without aplomb

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
