Come Out From There Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Come Out From There

“Beware my child, come out from there
Take heed the words I’ve said
With hypocrites you have no share
Come in the ark instead

Some people like to say they’re mine
Their bones instead are dry
The One I sent they undermine
So in their filth, they’ll die

From such as these take no more part
Your name is in my hand
You love your God with all your heart
But they; don’t understand

They say Lord, Lord, with hearts of stone
My face they fail to seek
But please themselves when on their own
That’s how their bowels are weak

Come leave them to the things they do
I’ve seen the nights you’ve cried
So now my child I’ve come for you
For such as you I died

Don’t grieve for those you leave behind
They’ve all been told before
But in their sin they’ve grown so blind
They fail to find my door

I have; a place for you to go
A church you have to see
My children there will help you grow
With them, you’ll worship me

They fast, they pray, they’re Spirit taught
My truth, they’ve made their own
They all believe my true report
In live to me alone.
