Come Visit Me Poem by Marilyn Lott

Come Visit Me

Rating: 5.0

Relaxing in the country
On the other side of the fence
When will someone come and chat?
They’re keeping me in suspense

Oh sure, I can always visit
Other horses or the cows
But I’d really like to see
The farmer get off of his plow

Seems they could take the time
To stop for a little while
And I think they really need to rest
Or at least give me a little smile

I’ve been here for many hours
And I had my meal of grain
I’m hoping that they will
Come by and see me once again

For I’m a horse, you know
I don’t really have a life
Until I get some attention
Of my owner and his wife

The kids, well they’re too busy
Going back to school soon
And as soon as the day is gone
Here comes that lonesome moon

So I’ll just stand here waiting
For I know someone will see
How handsome and so sweet I am
And they’ll come to visit me!
