Comfort From Afar Poem by BRIAN LYNCH

Comfort From Afar

Rating: 5.0

A man walks out onto the deck of the apartment and stares upwards at the sky.
He sees a star, one star all alone in a sea of darkness.
He looks at the star and sees not only brightness, but solidarity and determination.
This star seems to carry the torch for the rest of the sky, not for always but for at least that moment.
The man raises his glass to the star and feels comforted.
Because of its presence the world is a brighter place.
He smiles and walks back inside to the company of his friends,
feeling much less alone than he did a few minutes prior to midnight...........
