Comfort In Times Of Grief Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Comfort In Times Of Grief

Honour your Parents all your Life,
Whether their deeds bring good or strife,
Pay them Respect ~ we are told,
Especially when they do grow old.

You might not agree with all they do,
But that is their right. ~ Why should you?
To their wishes you must accede,
If the words of G-D you do believe.

In the Fifth Commandment, HE told us
'To Honour our Parents is a Must',
We might not agree with all they say,
But we are commanded not to disobey.

I try to bring comfort to my Nephews dear,
Whose Father has left this Mortal Life,
Now free from the pain he had had to endure,
At Peace now, and free from strife.

I knew him for so short a time,
Or so it seemed ~ these twenty-three years,
Memories of my Brother-in-law Aaron now
Bring moistness to my eyes and gentle tears.
