Coming Out Part 1 Poem by Tia Hospedales

Coming Out Part 1

Hi my name is Tianna and I like girls
I say those words like
I'm trying to make the world believe I matter
Like im trying to prove something
Trying to fit a quota
But as I say those words I bite my tongue
And wait for the end to come
I hide behind my hands
As I feel the darkness closing in
The words of my mother echoes in my mind
'YOU'RE GAY YOU ARE NO CHILD OF MINE'
She screams like the love she had for me
Two minutes ago just disappeared
I can feel my throat closing up
As her perpetual hate makes me feel as if I'm dying
All I can do now is try to stay alive

I agree with Fabrizio below me.. You are a brave, honest, and beautiful human being Tianna. Love is love. It doesn't matter if you are attracted towards girls. IT IS YOUR LIFE, and no one has the right to judge you based on your sexual preference.. Be out and proud :)

a strong write, Tianna. Thank you for sharing. My point of view? What is important, in the Universe, is LIFE. It is a rare happening in the infinite cosmo - from this point of view, it's sort of a 'miracle'.. and when Life evolves, step by step, into biological creatures able to think and choose between right and wrong.. like, in planet Earth, the human beings, this 'miracle' is so great that we think a 'God' has to be behind it.. I'm not a believer (even if I respect all those who believe) , but with or without God, each and every form of Life has to be respected. The same respect has to be shown to each and every human being, as a Person, as part of Mankind. Without any discrimination (like Age, Race, Sex, National Origin, Religion, Disability, Pregnancy, Medical Condition, Marital Status, Sexual Orientation.. and so on..) . The only discrimination we have to accept is ''Don't do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you.'' (Confucius) . To really love ourselves, WE NEED TO LOVE ALL MANKIND. Tale care Fabrizio
