Common Anthelia Poem by Michael Timothy Rose

Common Anthelia

Changes
are common anthelia.

Opposite the sun,
I can see it happening,

Changing, Transforming,
Diffracting, reflecting,
Refracting, reforming
And it is beautiful:
The spirit.

The light is new.
And by candle light through the winter,
An angel has walked through brittle stets on the night of my Bible,
passed streaked black streets
And revolved my aching world
Taken it from my icy, numb fingers
And spun me from the culdesac
Into sight and repair,
And I celebrate
This gentrification.
