Compassion Bore No Fruit Poem by Terence George Craddock

Compassion Bore No Fruit

Rating: 5.0

I have seen the unlucky man caught
stealing a fruit who paid severed price
under Sharia Law lost forever a hand;

I have seen scared unlucky man caught
foul hooked trapped in starving poverty rags
dared steal to feed starving dying family;

for it is centuries old crime written 'Theft
is (cruel pitiless ruthless harsh) punishable
by (brutal) amputation of the right hand';
