Condemnation Poem by June FeirCruz

Condemnation

It must have been so difficult to have held your tongue all this time
Wanting to tell me what a wanton woman I am.
When all the while I have been so naive thinking that I am loved by you
When in fact you are condemning me deep in your heart times two.

I wished we have met under different circumstances
Where we are both fresh like the warm breath of summer
Instead I have feet made of clay and you have feet made of sand
So when the wind blew, ashes we have become.

No need to prolong my suffering, end it now while you can
I will face your judgment with my eyes wide open
At least I face you with borrowed honor
My last stance as a dishonored woman.

Sorrow, anger, regret, a sense of what might have been - it's all here. A poem filled with feeling. The longer lines slow down the reader and set the pace so well. Thank you once more June.
