Confessions of a Bound Soul
Brother, my brother,
How selfish was I
While you seemed to struggle,
I sat idly by
Brother, my brother
Yes, try as I might
I now realize
It was also my fight
Brother, my brother
Now look at your arm
It's cold and immovable
Lost all its charm
Brother, my brother
Now look at your leg
There's so much left missing
Yet not once did you beg
Brother, my brother
Though I lost more in mass
It is you far more haunted
By our mistakes in the past
Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until this goes away
Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until our final day

loved it. makes me think of my bro! miss him soooo much! add me!
What a beautiful poem. I can almost completely relate to the entire piece. You did a great job at writing a poem that was simple and engaging.
ur last verse, touched me in a way no poem about brothers has, as i have been away from my brother many times but not aslong as this. i am young and turn to poems to help me get through the rougher times. great fukn poem. lovely verse
Wow this poem made me think and evaluate the relationship I have with my younger brother and it made me kind of sad to try and relate to this. I can sense much love in those lines accompanied by hurtful reminice. Yet, it is alll just beautiful
I think this is really beautiful. The language is not too overbearing and it just holds so much emotion. I really loved it.
