Confidence Poem by Christina M. A. Fleuranvil

Confidence

Confidence is the best accessory on a woman.
Confidence in the way she looks, not how she looks to other people.
Confidence in the way she handles herself, not the way people think they can handle her.
Confidence in the way she talks, not the way people hear her.
Confidence in the way she walks with her head up, her back straight, that slight sway in her hips and the gentle stride in her steps. Not the way other women envy her for catching a mans eye effortlessly.
Confidence in her eyes, not the way they hold her every emotion,
But the way she overcomes it with such,
Confidence.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I originally wrote this poem for the standing woman figures in my life which includes my mother Marie, my mentor's wife Mrs.Elmore, my sister in Christ Herline, and my sisters by blood Vanessa, Bartelyne, and Jessica. Also last but definitely not least my mommy-in-law, a woman who encouraged me to pick up my pen again by simply being her Mrs.Colston. We all have our stories but life wouldn't be life if it wasn't worth fighting for. And for that I Thank you ladies.
