Congratulations On The All Clear (Fun Poem 67) Poem by David Harris

Congratulations On The All Clear (Fun Poem 67)

Everywhere you go
someone has hung a banner
saying Happy Birthday
or Happy Anniversary to someone.
However, the most unusual one
I have ever come across
was tied to a fence
opposite some traffic lights,
so when you stopped
it stood out like a beacon light
and written on it
you might well ask.
It read,
congratulation on getting
the all clear at the VD clinic,
and the names of those concerned
was written below.
Now when the letters
are two foot tall
you cannot miss them at all.
My heart goes out
to the names printed there
at their embarrassment
while everyone else was having
a damn good laugh.

I think I might have mentioned before that fact is often funnier than fiction. It you had written this as a scenario for a film, I'm sure the producers would have said - that's a bit steep. Noone would do that. But they did, didn't they! Your powers of observation have ensured that we all get a good laugh. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

How absolutely horrifying! Must have been a disgruntled lover, who got the last laugh. Priceless! Linda :)
