Consumed by darkness

The darkness takes over and there seems to be no relief
Overcome by emotions consumed by grief

The pain is all too much to bare
I cry out for someone, anyone
to care
I try my best to find you but no one seems to be there
I try my best but I sink into a deep despair

Darkness is all around me
My future I can not see
I'm consumed by thoughts of setting my soul free
I find that i simply no longer want to be

My soul can not live in this body
anymore
So I choose to exit thru another door
Exit out of darkness exit out of pain
Enter into light where my soul will be restored again

Think of me often, think of my contagious smile
I will be gone for only a short while
One day we will meet up on that pearly shore
One day I will hug you all once more

Until that time comes carry me on in your hearts and minds
Please understand it was simply my time
The darkness has turned to light
The pain is finally gone
I open my eyes and find I'm back home

Poem of the Day

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
