Contemplation On Love Poem by RIC BASTASA

do not ever think
that i cannot live without you

from birth i have known how to
breathe
and when i grew up to be a man
i have learned what love is
at least from the perspective of both
loneliness and happiness.

love is beyond sorrow and joy
it is freedom
it is my journey to the place where
i can no longer be restless.

love is not you and not even me
it is and will always be it is
beyond our words beyond our descriptions
it is the bush that burns itself without
consuming itself
it is without name
it is everywhere and sometimes it is what
we call as God, the Creator,

for is it not that we must worship Love
which in turn created Us.
