Conversation Poem by Jesse Lobos

Conversation

Tanner: wrapped in twine and mystery
My feeling that have come to be hidden from the world
A secret to all
Covering wounds refusing their calls

The world outside through eyes
A normal boy
Just an ordinary teenager
Uncaring
Unemployed
Yet inside he is a wreck
A broken sword
A shattered shield
His thoughts lost in mystery
In darkness
Never yield

Yet a lone star
Floating in the night of he'll
Gives a center
A stronghold ringing it's bell
It keeps his thoughts safe
A white cloud of protection
It shelters him from his heart from the cruelty and rejection

Yet the star is not enough
The night is full of empty space
Where dark thoughts roam
Escaping the cuffs
Still
All
This is hidden behind my pallid face

Jesselynn: The night may be dark
But in every star a universe outside our own is bright
The dark is no place to hide
It's to explore
Space may look empty but in that darken space is lights not yet seen

Tanner: For me
The darkened space is all it appears to be
A desolate m
Vast expanse that is plagued by scorge conjured from my minds eye

Jesselynn: Look closely. Lay down in the grass outside and watch the sky spin
Look
At one spot
What you think is empty is full

Tanner: Been there
Done that
And yet
All the vast expanse is full
Yet full of the monster haunting my dreams and nightmares

Message failed: I love you
Message failed, sender; Jesselynn
