Could’ve Been
It would have never worked
Between you and me
For you know some deep secret
That I just can’t see
It would never have worked
In any time or land
For you always have life’s key
On person or in hand
It would have ended soon
With no good thing
For gifts of passion and love
Are ever in your being
It would have ended badly
With at least my heart
For slow though I am at times
I give it all once I start
It would have gone to quickly
With this understanding
For curiosity is good for a while
Continuous isn’t my thing
It would have been enjoyed
Though easily tarnish
Once it got down to the everyday
Building isn’t all bliss
It would have been very nice
Love and receive in turn
For a brief minute of our span
Warmed by passions burn
It would have but was very not
And there I see the end
With a shrug ‘n sigh I leave those
What might’ve could’ve been
