COUNTING BLESSINGS!
During my childhood days, I had once let
a gas balloon escape, -
Into the vast expanse of the vast blue space!
It had turned into a tiny speck and melted
into infinite space!
Those were the days filled with wonder, -
And the balloon toed a child’s waking dreams,
- no wonder!
Now after many long years, I neither marvel
at the infinite,
Nor do I lament the finiteness of things!
I thank the Lord for all that I have for the
time being!
For the happiness and joy which life brings!
Not for how long I will have them!

Gratitude for what we have is the only way to happiness. How can you be happy if you yearn for more? Live now and enjoy all the blessings all around. Thank you Raj, for this enjoyable read. Warm regards B ob
Raj Your theme of the balloon works so well. I wrote a poem for my daughter when at a party when one broke. 'darling balloons are for choosing and bursting and loosing. Youth and life are fleeting, just like balloons and you bring back the theme to the wisdom of your title 'Counting Blessings'. 10 Karin Anderson
