The birthday cake is carefully prepared
Delightfully decorated… to be shared
Another celebration is added to the gallery
Sweet and sugary…loaded with calories

Flickering candles are lit one by one…
Revealing moments that can’t be undone
Fading thoughts of the passing year
Extinguish, as the future becomes clear

This day brings a hopeful wish
An opportunity to gradually accomplish
Excitedly exploring a broadening range…
Anticipating joyous growth and change
