Covid-19 Poem by Lendsy Salcedo

Covid-19

Busy streets,
Noisy beeps.
Traffic lights,
City lights.
Fast forward steps,
Hay-wired minds got no sleep.
These were the businesses
Before the dominance and reign of the two-faced darkness.

The predator is unseen,
Victims can be anyone, that's for real.
Hellous body temperature,
Chest pain as if rib cage will be in fracture.
Groaning, coughing
Until you can't held up and the choice left is to give up
And climb to accept that you are nearly dying.

But new superheroes are on rescue.
Stethoscopes, lab gowns, masks, injections.
These are the few swords they have in hands
To save our lives and our lands.

Outside the recuperating shelter,
Supermen, batmen, iron men dressed in camouflage and in combat shoes are our protector.
New and relic.
Minute and mammoth.
Famous and low-keys.
We provide, we aid.
To subside, to end
The unseen enemy that we are bravely fighting.

The reign of this darkness will soon to end.
For the real reign of the most powerful One will dominate up to the end.
