Cravings Poem by Teresa Reuter

Cravings

I see it
I crave it
I reach for it

It's tempting and teasing
Making desire burn brighter
My tongue snakes out to brush it

Small drips forming
Licking to clear the drops
Swirling around the base

Up one side
Back down the other
Wrapping lips around the tip

Tasting the sweetness
Savoring the creaminess
Enjoying the fulfilment
While paying the street vendor for
my ice cream cone.
