The credit of one's merit goes
By a half each to parents
And a quarter each to grandparents.
Beyond that, people may not live
To share the credit of a person.
The pride of one's merit goes
Fully to children and grandchildren.
Beyond that, the link is diluted
For the pride to be carried over.

Interesting and enjoyable read. Caused this reader to stop and give thoughts to my own family generations.
