Crossing Poem by shakil ahmed

Crossing

Rating: 1.5

Crossing

Shakil Ahmed.

I have to swim thousands miles
Crossing the roaring ocean
I have to walk with long stride
Crossing the rocky mountains,
Myriad abysses and vast sandy deserts
Path is crooked and slippery
Hostile weather and ominous fear.

I have to walk alone
Leaving aside mournful moments,
Sinful days and chaotic months
To reach the promised land
Of blinking stars and glowing rainbow
Of blooming flowers and twittering birds.

Shaking aside fear and panic
Breaking the shakles of unknown barrier,
Removing the gloom of centuries
We have to walk towards the light
Bearing eternal courage, and robust hope,
Unshaken faith, and strong will
To enjoy the taste of joy and bliss of life,
To touch the bulge of round moon.
