Crossroads Poem by Tess Rockenstire

Crossroads

I am standing on a crossroad
Two paths which way should I turn?
One tells me is where silver and gold,
The other is misery road.
Neither this road; is familiar place.
I could imagine only
Which road shall prevail?
My innocent eyes have yet to discover,
Both seem have odd circumstances;
Which I have yet to uncover?

Silver and gold could be my fancy
Yet misery road could be a discovery.

This enlighten my eyes,
Two things at once can be done.
Let knowledge be my ground.
Either two is meaningless,
This two is dancing in my head.
In the hour of nothingness -

One is screaming at me to lighten up,
Like a perverse litany.
The other is haunting,
But wisdom is calling.
Shroud of life
Is neither your enemy
Or nor your friend.
It entices you;
To surrender or-
To fight like the battle -
In the Island, of corridor.

Unnerving as it may seem.
Courage is what I need,
In the crossroad of life
My head is clear.
Which road shall I take?
It is all up to me.
Like a sharp double edged sword,
Faith is my life’s scheme.
