Cry No More Poem by Nkosinathi Ndzimande

Cry No More

Cry no more just like you always say.
Cry no more were the first words you said when I first met you.
You said so because you cared for me, you said so because you loved me,
You said so because you were supporting me.
Furthermore, you said so because you knew what I was going through.
Therefore, I regard myself lucky to have met you.

Cry no more just like you always say.
I was very fortunate that there are people like you;
People who are always opening their hands to those who needs love, care and support.
You always guided me to the right path.
Whatever step I took you was always around me to see me take that step;
And because of that support, guidance, love and care,
I grew up to be who you wanted me to be.

Cry no more just like you always say.
I thought I was going to cry when I hear you have passed away,
Guess what I did not cry.
Because I heard your voice whispering ‘do not cry', everything is going to be fine just like you always say when things were not going my way.
All I said I wish you were still going to be here to guide my children too.
Give them the words of wisdom you gave me,
Give them Support, Guidance, Love and care.

Cry, Cry and Cry no more were the first words I heard from you,
Cry, Cry and Cry no more were the last words I heard from you,
Therefore, I shall ‘cry no more' just like the way you wanted.
