Cry Now And Smile Later Poem by lori melanies

Cry Now And Smile Later

If you were left alone stranded on a desert,
why would you cry?
Is it because you feel as if you are the air we breath?
understood to be there, but ignored?
So that if you let your tears run,
they would be left on your lifeless face, just to be dried up
by the scorching sun?
Yet, your face is like the clouds,
lifeless, but wanted when the sun is left to dry more than
just the tears.
Yet, your tears are needed.
Just as the clouds' are to the Earth.
Yet, your soul is like the air.
understood to be there,
but needed by the many whose lives depend on it to survive.
Yet, those who have abandoned you,
who have abandoned you to not only lonliness,
but the hurt and confusion that follows,
are NOT needed,
just as a broken heart needs an arrow.
Why torment yourself to hurt and sorrow,
when you've already been torn apart,
torn until you can no longer feel the pain or your heart.
