Crystal Ball Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Crystal Ball

Crystal ball

In one of schoolbooks
Of before high school
Story was of time
Like today with Virus,
Many were injured and
Needed the outside help.

Came someone with water
Naturally, went to first.

"His wound is worse than mine
Must have lost more blood,
Therefore, needs more water…"
Said the wounded, injured…

The second, sent to third
And the third to the next
Till ended the circle…

By then the first was dead
As it was with second,
Similar was the third
And to end, all of them…

The morale was simple
"Sacrifice with life, pay…"

Now, the malls and the shops,
Are crowded to buy
Soap, papers, sanitise…

Everyone wears a mask
And people are robots
No hello and no bye…

Wonder what kids talk of
Witnessing today's life!

Where is ball, crystal
To reveal secret hearts
Of today's kids in time?
